Q.
Is scraping the tongue dangerous to the taste buds?
- Kevin, Sacramento, CA
A.
Not only is tongue scraping not dangerous it is the single most important way to assure fresh breath and it may actually help you to better taste the foods you eat by allowing you to start with a much cleaner palate. In addition, cleaning your tongue with one of these tools is safer and more effective then brushing your tongue with a toothbrush. Once you begin the tongue scraping regimen you will see what I mean. My suggestion is pick up a scraper today and see if you don't feel, taste and see the difference, I'm sure you will.
